Tottenham have moved to the front of the queue to sign Twente midfielder Nacer Chadli, according to Voetbal International.
The 23-year-old has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so and he was in turn linked to a number of Europe’s top clubs.
While Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have been showing interest of late, Tottenham were the first side to launch an official assault on the Belgium international and they appear to be winning the chase at the moment.
Voetbal International understands that the player is close to agreeing a five-year deal with the White Hart Lane outfit.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have submitted a €7 million bid for Chadli, whereas Twente are holding out for no less than €9 million.
Nacer Chadli, whose deal with the Tukkers is due to expire in June 2014, has been in fine form last season, scoring a total of 12 goals in 26 Eredivisie matches for the club.
