Romanian newspaper Pro Sport is reporting that Tottenham are set to complete the signing of Steaua defender Vlad Chiriches.
The same source has suggested that the Romanian side have accepted an €8 million offer from London, with the Premier League club ready to pay the full amount up front.
However, controversial owner Gigi Becali, who has already blocked a move to White Hart Lane in the past, is yet to give a green light for the deal to go ahead.
The mere fact that the 23-year-old was left out of Steaua’s squad to face Legia Warsaw in Champions League play-off stage is enough to suggest he is on the way to London.
Chiriches, who already has 19 Romania caps to his name, has been linked with AC Milan and Roma in the past, but it appears he will be moving to English Premier League after his employers received an offer they couldn’t refuse.
