According to a recent report from Le10Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating a summer move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The hope from Spurs is that he could serve as a long term replacement for Hugo Lloris, with Lloris turning 34 in December and Maignan turning 25 tomorrow.
These two men are very familiar with one another, with Maignan actually replacing Lloris in the France squad back in October when the Spurs keeper sustained an injury.
It doesn’t seem as if manager Jose Mourinho is looking to waste any time heading into the summer transfer window, and you can’t blame him. There’s a whole lot of uncertainty in the air right now regarding the future of the beautiful game and what it might look like, and he wants to strike while the iron is hot.
Whether or not he’s able to land a target like Maignan, though, is still a big source of debate.
