According to News of The World, Spurs are the latest club to be linked with the recently crowned UEFA Cup champion Andrei Arshavin, Zenit St Petersburg.
Arshavin put in a stellar performance in the UEFA Cup final against Rangers, and was later voted the man-of-the-match. His performance in the final have alerted more clubs of his talents, and some look to secure a deal now before the European Championships starts, during which his market value could rise.
Arshavin, 26, has already been followed by clubs such as Newcastle and Arsenal, and it looks more and more likely that the Premier League will be the new destination for the player.
Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o still appears to be Tottenham’s number one target, but his £90,000 a week wage demand is way outside the club’s pay structure. Should they fail to sign Eto’o, the Russian playmaker could be their man instead.
The Spurs have also just recently been linked with England striker Dean Ashton.
