Tottenham face challenge from Chelsea to land Brazilian star

A report from the Metro suggests that long-time Tottenham target Willian could finally be set for a move to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window.

Andre Villas-Boas has been an admirer of the Brazilian for a while now and tried to bring him to North London in the summer window, but was not successful.

It seems as though Spurs are ready to make a serious attempt to bring the Shaktar Donetsk man to the club in the New Year, but they could face a fight with London rivals and Villas-Boas’ former employers Chelsea, as the Blues are also keeping tabs on the midfielder.

Willian will go up against the European Champions on Wednesday evening in the Champions League – which he will see as a chance to prove himself on the biggest stage.

He is sure to be focusing on his performances for the Ukrainian side at the moment and will wait until January, or possibly the summer before deciding where he would prefer to play his football.

Willian is a big fan of AVB and would love to work with him at Tottenham, but with Chelsea being the current European Champions and looking like challenging for the English Premier League title – his decision will be tough.
