Tottenham go after Depay

According to a recent report from Sport, Tottenham are holding talks with Barcelona over the potential signing of Memphis Depay.

Spurs have already made a few notable signings so far during the early stages of the summer transfer window with Richarlison being the most notable. However, Antonio Conte isn’t willing to settle, and he instead wants to go for the throat of his league rivals ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League.

Depay is the kind of player that constantly thrives away from English football but, based on what he did during his days with Manchester United, could struggle upon returning to the Premier League.

Barca are after a fee of around €20 million in order to agree to the sale of Depay and while it may seem like a bargain, you’d have to imagine Xavi will have a back-up plan in place – but then again, this is Barcelona we’re talking about.
