Tottenham go after Di Maria

According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry over the potential signing of Angel Di Maria.

The belief is that they have contacted his representatives over the possibility of him heading to North London on a free transfer during the upcoming summer transfer window. The former Manchester United man would be getting an opportunity to finally do the business in England after failing to make much of an impact during his ill-fated tenure at Old Trafford.

Spurs haven’t been shy when it comes to making moves and big signings under Jose Mourinho, but you could argue this would be the most ambitious of them all. There is a certain risk attached to the idea that Di Maria can continue to thrive at a high level in world football, but instead of veering away from that, Mourinho wants to take the leap of faith and see what happens.
