Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window, according a report in O Jogo. The report has claimed that Tottenham have already enquired about the 23-year-old midfielder, and that Sporting have told them that they need to pay €40 million (33.58 million) for the Portugal international midfielder.
Nunes has made 24 starts and two substitute appearances in the Portuguese league so far this season. The Sporting no. 8 has scored two goals and given two assists in those games. Nunes has also given two assists in six Champions League games this campaign.
Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 45 points from 27 matches, six points behind fourth-placed and North London rivals Arsenal, who have played 26 games. Sporting are second in the Portuguese league table with 64 points from 26 matches, six points behind leaders FC Porto.
