Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing James Ward-Prowse from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Tottenham are willing to pay as much as €40 million for the midfielder to bring him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.
Ward-Prowse is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and is a free-kick specialist. The 28-year-old has scored seven goals and given two assists in 34 Premier League matches for the Saints so far this season.
Southampton are likely to get relegated from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the season. Tottenham are a big and ambitious club who could play in the UEFA Europa League next season. A move to Spurs could appeal to Ward-Prowse.
