Tottenham Hotspur hope to sell Paulo Gazzaniga in the January transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard. The Argentina international is now essential the third-choice goalkeeper at Spurs following the arrival of Joe Hart on a free transfer this summer, with Hugo Lloris the number one player between the posts.
Both Everton and Liverpool were linked with the former Southampton goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. According to talkSPORT (Transfer Live blog, 12:10pm, October 5, 2020), the two Merseyside rivals wanted to sign the 28-year-old on summer transfer deadline day on Monday, but nothing materialised.
Gazzaniga failed to break into the Valencia first team and switch to Gillingham in 2011 before earning the move to Southampton. The 28-year-old was a back-up at Southampton, and he has been a squad player at Spurs as well, although when Hugo Lloris got injured last season, the Argentina international did play 18 times in the Premier League, according to WhoScored.
