Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has said on The Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jordan Pickford from Premier League rivals Everton. The Toffees are reportedly open to selling England international goalkeeper Pickford, and Tottenham are interested in the 27-year-old.
Thomas said: “They like the idea of getting an English goalkeeper, and there’s plenty of them around. Obviously, Pickford is the England number one.
“Everton have been looking at trying to recoup some money from selling players, and they’ve been looking at their most sellable assets.
“We’re quite sure that Lucas Digne is the one they’re most open to selling, but Pickford’s name has been mentioned as well, and Tottenham would be silly not to look at that, especially if Hugo is to leave.”
Hugo Lloris is the number one goalkeeper at Tottenham, but the France international is out of contract at the North London club at the end of the season. While talks between Lloris and Spurs over a new deal have started, it must be remember that the former Lyon star is 35 now.
Pickford has been on the books of Everton since 2017 and has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Merseyside club.
