Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, CBS Sports reported Ben Jacobs has told The Gooner Talk. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Tottenham are ahead of Arsenal in the race for the former Liverpool attacking midfielder.
Jacobs has added that although Sterling knows Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta from the Spaniard’s time at Manchester City as a coach, he wants to play under Antonio Conte at Tottenham. Both Arsenal and Tottenham are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four this season.
Sterling has made 22 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for City this season, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in the process. The attacking midfielder scored three goals and gave two assists in 12 Champions League matches for the Citizens.
