Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Tottenham scouted Edwards in action for Sporting against Benfica in the Portuguese league this past weekend.
Edwards came through the youth academy of Tottenham, but the 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, struggled to make an impact in the first team and left for Vitória de Guimaraes on a permanent deal in 2019.
The Englishman joined Sporting in 2022 and has been sueprb for the Portuguese giants so far. The 24-year-old has scored two goals and given three assists in 10 Portuguese league matches this season. The attacking midfielder scored seven goals and provided five assists in 27 league starts last season.
