Tottenham Hotspur are interested in RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan, according to Sky Sport Germany. The report has claimed that Tottenham are monitoring the situation of Simakan, who has a £60 million release clause in his contract at his German club Leipzig.
Simakan has been on the books of Leipzig since 2021 and is one of the better defenders in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old can play as a centre-back and as a right-back. The youngster has made 20 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in those games.
Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 60 points from 31 matches, level on points with Aston Villa, who are fifth and have played 32 games. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig currently find themselves fourth in the Bundesliga table with 53 points from 28 matches, level on points with Borussia Dortmund, who are fifth.
