Tottenham Hotspur are planning to make a bid for Southampton striker Danny Ings, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that the former Liverpool striker wants to leave Southampton in the summer transfer window. The Saints value the England international striker at £20 million, but Spurs’ opening bid for him will be lower than that figure.
Ings joined Southampton on loan from Liverpool in the summer of 2018, and the deal was made permanent in the summer of 2019. The 28-year-old striker scored 12 goals and gave four assists in 29 Premier League appearances last season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the striker scored 22 goals and gave two assists in 38 league games, while in 2018-19, he found the back of the net seven times and provided three assists in the league.
With Carlos Vinicius having returned to his parent club Benfica following a loan spell at Spurs last season, there is space in the North London club’s squad for a back-up striker to Harry Kane.
