English Premier League football captivates crowds all over the world and is not restricted to just the audiences of the United Kingdom. What is it about the EPL that seems to captivate viewers no matter where you live?
There is something about the league that gives it that unique special flavor. Many tout this societal envelopment as a result of the wide array and variety of teams within the EPL as well as the players who range from all over the nation. One country that enjoys the EPL almost as much as the United Kingdom does (due to the overwhelmingly vast increase in population) is the United States of America.
Annually, the top football clubs and leagues from all over the world play host to pre-season friendly matches and take to the United States to ensure that the country is not neglected of the finer side of Football.
Liverpool FC is one of the prestigious football clubs of the EPL, with a long and respectful history as well as presence within the league itself, constantly probing to the strong competitors that they will hold their ground no matter what opposition they face. Some of the accolades won include the FA Charity Shield in 2006 and perhaps the most prestigious in recent years, the UEFA Champions League Title and Super Cup title in 2005.
Whilst it seems these are very limited in recent years, that still does not detract from the mesmerising football that they play and the die-hard supports who turn up to each match. Amongst the high class names on the match report include the likes of controversial Luis Suarez, resilient Dirk Kuyt and the captain and hero of the team, Steven Gerrard. These names alone are enough to bring in a substantial crowd, but their work seamlessly together along the attack to perform admirably for the adoring fans.
Not to be outdone, the defenders such as Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique and goalkeeper Pepe Reina are superb in their own, and every member of the Liverpool Football Club helps to make the team great.
The name Hotspur seems to derive some confusion from certain individuals despite it being adorned amongst the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. It is accurately derived from the 14th-15th century knight “Sir Harry Percy” known as “Harry Hotspur”. His family had owned a great deal of Tottenham land and were known for their heroism and determination, a trait that the Football Club brought through within their club heritage.
Whilst Tottenham do not have many accolades as of recent aside from a League Cup win in 2008, they do bear witness to many talented players such as William Gallas, Luka Modric and much discussed Gareth Bale. Their mentality and ability always press the strongest of opponents and they have always provided the fiercest of compettion within the EPL.
