Tottenham have launched a fresh assault on Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Alen Halilovic, according to Sky Sports Italia.
Spurs are believed to be leading the chase for the 17-year-old footballer, who was close to arriving at White Hart Lane in the summer.
Sky Sport Italia has learned that Tottenham are readying a £17 million bid for Halilovic in an attempt to beat other interested clubs to the player’s signature.
However, with the midfielder’s father requesting assurances that his son will get enough playing time at White Hart Lane, the deal is not exactly close to fruition.
Alen Halilovic is widely regarded as Croatia’s biggest talent since Luka Modric and it appears he could have exactly the same career path as the now Real Madrid star.
Despite his fragile age, the midfielder has made 26 league appearances for Dinamo, while earning 3 full Croatia caps. He was also an unused substitute in three 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
