Portuguese daily Record understands that Tottenham and Inter Milan are hot on the trail of Zenit defender Luis Neto.
According to the same source, the two clubs had the player watched in midweek as he played for Portugal in an international friendly against the Netherlands.
Spurs and Nerazzurri are both looking for defensive reinforcements and they seem to be locked in the battle for the 25-year-old centre-back.
Luis Neto arrived at Siena last summer as a virtually unknown player, but he needed just 20 Serie A games to attract attention from top European clubs.
And while Italy’s giants were hesitating in making their interest concrete, Zenit took advantage and snatched the player in the winter transfer window.
Luis Neto has since made 13 Russian Premier League appearances, scoring his only goal in a 3-1 victory over Volga, but he continues to be linked with a return to the biggest stage.
