According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks over the possible signing of Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena on loan. He has been gradually dropping further and further down the pecking order as of late, with the arrival of Frenkie de Jong seemingly serving as the final straw. Alena is eager to get some more first team minutes under his belt and if he really wants to do that, a switch over to a club like Tottenham could be exactly what he needs.
Spurs have been after a few reinforcements for quite some time now following their poor start to the new campaign. Alena is someone that is still young and still has plenty of room to grow as a player, and Tottenham are well known for being able to harness young talent and nurture them.
It could just be all talk for now, but the possibility of this deal becoming a reality should actively excite Spurs fans.
