Tottenham join race for David Brooks

A few weeks ago reports emerged suggesting that young Welsh midfielder David Brooks, who has been plying his trade in the Championship with Sheffield United, had caught the eye of Premier League giants Liverpool thanks to a flurry of good performances.

This week however Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to acquire Brooks’ services, according to the Express, making him one of the most highly sought after young players in the English Football League.

The midfielder’s exploits in Sheffield have been so impressive that he recently earned his first cap for Wales, and now the 20-year old has two top Premier League clubs chasing his signature, and the two teams are apparently willing to pay upwards of £20m.

The fact that the player only recently signed a new four year deal complicates matters slightly, but there is little doubt that two clubs with the financial firepower of Liverpool and Tottenham will let that get in the way of bringing in an immensely talented youngster.
