Tottenham keen on Lamela-Balotelli swap deal

The Mirror understands that Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli in a swap deal that would see their record signing Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.

Lamela, who joined from Roma last summer, has made just three Premier League starts for the North London club, and scored his only goal this season in the 2-1 Europa League group stage victory over Sheriff.

The 21 year old hasn’t feature at all in 2014, and is currently side-lined with a back injury.

Balotelli won both the FA Cup and the Premier League in two-and-a-half eventful years with Manchester City, before moving to Milan during the 2013 winter transfer window.

The Italy international has scored twenty-two goals in thirty-one Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri, who are sixteen points off a Champions League place after a poor season by their standards, though their fortunes have improved since they appointed Clarence Seedorf as manager.
