While the other big clubs in the Premier League and around Europe exchange blows over the likes of Neymar, Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez, Tottenham seem content with grabbing a bargain or two to bolster their already fairly harmonious squad.
With that in mind it is little surprise that they are leading the race for Jann-Fiete Arp’s signature, perhaps in the hopes that the 18-year old will be available for cheap if Hamburg get relegated, according to talkSPORT.
Arp has started to break into Hamburg’s first team this season, and has quickly impressed with his performances both in the Bundesliga and for Germany at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, a competition in which he scored five goals. At such a young age, the striker is full of potential, and is an exciting prospect.
Tottenham currently sit fifth in the Premier League, one point off Chelsea in fourth, and joining a potential Champions League side for next season would certainly be a great way for Arp to accelerate his career.
