Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Portuguese midfielder Moreto Cassama from FC Porto, Daily Mirror has learned.
Spurs are expected to make a real splash in the summer transfer window in an attempt to avoid another disappointing season, but it appears they are also looking towards the future.
Daily Mirror understands that Tottenham officials have made an inquiry into the availability of FC Porto youngster Moreto Cassama.
The 16-year-old was previously on the radar of Manchester City, but the Citizens missed out on his signature as he opted to leave Sporting Lisbon for league rivals FC Porto.
And with the youngster predicted a bright future in the game, Tottenham have now entered the chase, hoping to secure his signing before other interested sides have time to act.
Spurs face a tough task in tonight’s Europa League clash against Benfica having lost the first leg 3-1, and they are no less than 11/2 to win at Estadio da Luz.
