Tottenham are expected to launch an assault on Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez, The Mirror has revealed.
New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is set to shake up the squad this summer and signing a high-profile striker appears to be the priority.
According to The Mirror, the Portuguese manager has set his sights on Atletico Madrid star Adrian Lopez.
The Spain international, who narrowly missed out on Spain’s Euro 2012 squad, joined los Colchoneros on a free transfer last summer, but he has already been linked with top European clubs.
Lopez has a £16 million release clause inserted in his contract and Tottenham could meet the asking price for the highly rated forward.
However, persuading the player to join the White Hart Lane outfit could prove to be a problem seeing he is perfectly happy at Vicente Calderon.
Adrian Lopez was picked as one of three over-age players in Spain’s Olympics squad, and Andre Villas-Boas is likely to use the opportunity to watch the player in action before making an official bid for his services.
