Tottenham Hotspur are readying a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, according to the Mirror.
The North London club are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper to provide back up for France number one Hugo Lloris, with current second choice Michel Vorm out of contract and in demand this summer.
McCarthy, who has also been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers has one year remaining on his current Saints deal and ended the 2017/18 ahead of Fraser Forster in the pecking order.
In total, the twenty-eight-year-old he has played twenty-five times for the south based side, with all but seven of those outings coming in the second half of the recently concluded campaign.
Internationally he has been capped three times for England’s U21s while he is yet to make his senior debut despite having been called up in 2013 whilst playing for Reading, and again three years later.
