French media outlet L’Equipe has learned that Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach towards the Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The 21-year-old talent plays as a defensive midfielder and has already made a name for himself in France after making the total of 47 appearances for Lyon in all competitions. Ndombele scored one goal and provided six assists to further cement his place in the team.
Tottenham are said to have identified Ndombele as a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele who has only one year remaining in his deal with the Spurs and who has already been linked with a Serie A move this summer.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly personally insisting on Ndombele who spent the last season at Lyon playing as a loaned player from Amiens.
The London-based club are reportedly willing to fork out around €40 million to land the highly-rated prospect.
