Renowned for their famed La Masia football academy, Barcelona have seen their fair share of talents depart the Catalan giants prematurely as they search for their shot at glory elsewhere.
One of such talents who could end up leaving the Barcelona academy on a first-team football promise in the Premier League is the 19-year-old talented midfielder, Carles Alena.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to have already approached the highly-rated footballer, who is yet to renew his contract with Barcelona.
According to the Spanish news agency AS, the Spurs are preparing an offer worth €3 million for the player whose contract with Barcelona expires next summer.
The Catalans are thought to be keen to sell their prospect in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer, but could hold on to the player for another few days as the end of June would see his release clause rise from €3 million to more substantial €12 million.
Barcelona new manager Ernesto Valverde will reportedly use the remaining week in June to try to persuade the youngster to remain in Barcelona.
