Tottenham pursue Pellegrini

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are very interested in attempting to sign Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini.

The belief is that they’re fast approaching a point whereby they’re going to put in some kind of offer, but they also aren’t keen on the idea of paying his €30 million release clause. That clause is set to expire in 10 days with Nuno Espiritio Santo holding firm on attempting to get a lower deal.

Roma, as we know, are managed by former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, which could make for some interesting dialogue regarding this deal.

Pellegrini, 25, could prove to be quite the difference-maker for a team in Tottenham who definitely need to try something different. If they don’t, just finishing in the top six could prove to be a real challenge for them – which is saying something given we’re only two years removed from them playing in the Champions League final.
