Tottenham re-sign Whiteman

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to a new two-year deal for young goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman. The 20 year old has yet to make a senior appearance but he clearly has the determination and the skill to go far in this game, and Spurs want to be a part of that. Lloris, Vorm and Gazzaniga have all been training with Whiteman, and while he has three big names to get past if he wants to break into the first team, remaining with Spurs will really help his development one way or another.

Whiteman will remain at the club until 2020 with the new deal, and was an unused substitute in recent Premier League games for Spurs. With one or two more injuries there’s always the possibility of him being thrust into the first team in the PL, or at the very least, he could find himself appearing either in European football or the League Cup/FA Cup.
