Portugal media outlet Abola claims Premier League high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur have identified FC Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira as direct replacement for Manchester City target Kyle Walker.
As the England international edges closer to a £50 million move to Manchester City, the Spurs are eyeing the 23-year-old versatile defender Ricardo Pereira who spent last two seasons playing on loan at Nice.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to increase competition for places and put pressure on Kieran Trippier, who earned his place in the first team towards the end of the season, effectively pushing Kyle Walker out of Pochettino’s plans.
Pereira scored four goals and provided three assists in Nice’s runners-up French Ligue 1 campaign and is believed to be a £22 million transfer target for the Premier League outfit.
Ricardo Pereira can operate on either side of the back four although his preferred position is on the right.
The 23-year-old defender has already been capped by Portugal at the senior level.
