Tottenham take some positives whilst the gloom grows for Newcastle

Last night’s Carling Cup tie between Newcastle and Tottenham ended in a 2-1 victory for Tottenham. Both teams had stressed the importance of the game and Newcastle will be unable to take anything positive from what was a dire performance in a dire game that ended with a dire result. Even worse, less than 20,000 of the football mad Geordies made it to the game.

For Tottenham, they have the win to be positive about and the fact that Roman Pavlyuchenko opened his account. Other than that, there wasn’t too much to shout about for them either.

If last night’s game is anything to go by, both teams may have a few hard weeks ahead of them.
