Robbie Keane has ben sold to Liverpool and the departure of Dimitar Berbatov might not be as far off as it looks, according to the Daily Mirror. Now Tottenham manager, Juande Ramos, is set to put the monet to good use.
The report claims that Tottenham have set up a three striker short-list composed of Russia’s Roman Pavlyuchenko, Blackburn’s Santa Cruz and Zaragoza’s Diego Milito.
Of the three, it seems that Pavlyuchenko is the top target, as Ramos thinks he could successfully replace Berbatov. Tottenham have had one bid for the Russian turned down, but Daniel Levy is confident that he could clinch a deal with a little persistence.
Tottenham officials also seem pretty confident that they will sign Diego Milito from Zaragoza for about £8 million, although they will face competition from Everton.
The chase of Santa Cruz however might be off as David Bentley edges ever closer to leaving Ewood Park and Blackburn Rovers might want to try and keep some of their best players. BBC reported this morning that Tottenham have entered discussions with Blackburn over the possible transfer of the England winger.
