According to a recent report from Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis are anticipating that Tottenham Hotspur will make Giovani Lo Celso’s loan deal a permanent one within the next few months.
There is an option in his contract that will allow for this to happen, and while it hasn’t been confirmed one way or the other yet, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho certainly seems to be interested in locking players down to longer and more conclusive contracts as he looks ahead to his first full season in charge starting next August.
Lo Celso has had a few setbacks during the first few months of his tenure in North London, but that always seems to be the case in a deal of this magnitude. When you compare Tottenham to Real Betis there’s really no way you can put them on the same level, either, which leads us to believe that Lo Celso would much rather stick it out with Mourinho than run the risk of heading back to Betis.
