Tottenham turn focus on Jonny Evans

Tottenham Hotspur have become the last club in line to join the race for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans.

The former Manchester United centre-back could be available for as little as £3 million if WBA get relegated from the Premier League and his availability is set to launch a bidding war at the end of the season.

Premier League champions-elect Manchester City had been interested in signing Evans but have since then boosted their defensive ranks with the £57 million worth Aymeric Laporte, whereas Arsenal were said to have failed with a January bid for the highly-rated 30-year-old.

Gunners could return for the former Manchester United defender but will face competition from their North London rivals.

With Spurs looking to cash in on wantaway star Toby Alderweireld who’s a person of interest for Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Barcelona and they have already identified Evans as a possible replacement.

Jonny Evans made 25 Premier League appearances for WBA this season.
