According to a report from AS, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levey has played a £225 million price tag on the head of Christian Eriksen. The Dane is considered to be one of the best attacking midfielders in European football, and it’s no secret that Real Madrid have been sniffing around for well over a year now.
The 26 year old has 18 months remaining on his current deal with Spurs, but he certainly seems to be edging towards a move away from North London. Real believe that he is the ideal man to replace Luka Modric, but understandably, they aren’t particularly interested in paying that much for him.
The fee would mark a world record, and it serves as an indication of the direction football is going in in the modern era.
Eriksen is also considered to be the main man in the Denmark national team, helping them to reach the knockout stages of the World Cup this past summer.
