Tottenham want Clarke

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke. The 18 year old has been one of the best young players in the Championship this season, and he’s been one of the key reasons behind Leeds’ rise to the top of the table. Alas, even though there’s said to be a lot of interest in him, there have been no concrete offers with the club claiming he is not for sale.

Spurs aren’t the only top flight team monitoring his progress, though, with Southampton also believed to be sniffing around.

If it came down to it then you’d think Tottenham would have the edge, but it depends on whether or not he’d get much time in the first team in North London. With the Saints, he knows that he’d be going into a system that tends to nurture young English talent pretty effectively.
