Mauricio Pochettino has often looked to his native Argentina for finding interesting young players, with one of them being Juan Foyth. But this time it looks like he could be signing a player from Brazil, as Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring Gremio’s Everton Soares.
According to Sky Sports News, the Brazilian international forward is being followed by Spurs and he is apparently at the top of the priority list for their chief scout Steve Hitchen. He attended Gremio’s Copa Libertadores semifinal against Flamengo in order to watch the 23-year-old Everton. The match ended in a 1-1 draw and Everton Soares made an assist.
Everton has had some year, as not only he bagged 11 goals and five assists in Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores combined, but he also added three goals and an assist for Brazil at the Copa America this past summer. He could prove an interesting option for Pochettino since his approach for Paulo Dybala has not worked.
