According to a recent report from Sky sources, Tottenham Hotspur are still very interested in the possibility of signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes during the summer transfer window. A Tottenham representative met with Sporting yesterday, but the belief is that the clubs were quite far apart in their valuation. Fernandes’ agent held talks with the Sporting Lisbon president over the possible deal, with it being made crystal clear that Fernandes sees his future away from Portugal.
The club want to hold out until they receive an offer of around £64 million, which is believed to be the lowest amount that they would agree to. While that figure may seem steep to some, it certainly seems like an amount that Spurs would be willing to fork out given how desperately they need a few new faces before the Premier League season begins.
Now, we just have to wait and see whether they can force the deal over the line.
