Tottenham want Juan Mata
Portuguese newspaper Record has learned that Tottenham have joined the chase for Chelsea midfielder Juan Manuel Mata.
The Spaniard continues to be linked with a January exit after losing his place in the side under Jose Mourinho, and he is likely to be one of the most sought-after players in the winter transfer window.
Juventus and Napoli have already showed interest, but Record understands that Tottenham are also keeping close tabs on the highly rated footballer.
Andre Villas-Boas is a big admirer of the Spaniard and he wants to take advantage of the situation and lure him to White Hart Lane.
Juan Manuel Mata has only made two appearances for the Blues this term, and he is reportedly unhappy with the treatment at the club.
The 25-year-old had won back to back Chelsea Player of the Year awards after joining the club from Valencia.
Napoli eyeing Adil Rami
Serie A high-flyers Napoli are pondering a January move for Valencia defender Adil Rami, reports AS.
The Azzurri have signed Raul Albiol this summer to compensate for the departure of Hugo Campagnaro, but Rafael Benitez is reportedly looking to sign another high-profile defender.
Even if the Spaniard has recently been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel, AS has revealed that Valencia stopper Adil Rami remains one of the first names on the hit-list.
Benitez is hoping to sign the France international in the January transfer window, with club chiefs prepared to back him up in his pursuit of the 27-year-old.
Adil Rami is no longer considered an automatic choice for Valencia and he has expressed his desire to leave los Che on numerous occasions.
The former Lille stopper is, nonetheless, held in high regard by top European clubs, with Napoli unlikely to be the only contenders for his signature.
Everton and Newcastle battle for Doumbia
Everton and Newcastle are among clubs linked with moves for CSKA Moscow forward Seydou Doumbia, according to Izvestia.
The 25-year-old has been one of world’s most prolific strikers in recent years and his impressive displays in Russian Premier League did not go unnoticed.
Russian daily Izvestia has suggested that Everton and Newcastle are both keen on adding the talented footballer to their ranks.
Doumbia first started attracting admiring glances while at Young Boys, where he notched no less than 50 goals in 64 league appearances, thus earning a lucrative move to CSKA Moscow.
The Ivorian continued the rich vein of form in Russia, bagging 28 league goals in his first season at the club, but he has since experienced some injury problems.
Doumbia has, nonetheless, enjoyed a bright start to the new campaign, bagging 4 goals in first 6 Russian Premier League matches.
