Tottenham’s new teenage signing Paul-Jose Mpoku has said that his move to England and Tottenham is a dream come true, according to The Daily Mail.
Mpoku, 16, was snapped up by Tottenham as top European clubs began to state their interest in the star, and Mpoku has revealed that he turned down a move to Manchester United and moves to other European countries to play at White Hart Lane.
Mpoku told The Daily Mail: “For sure, it was my dream, but going too fast wouldn’t be good. I chose them because they were the very first team interested in me and they were the first to show me such interest.
“Besides, they signed me without making me pass a trial despite what has been said by some media.
“I really wanted to move to England because I have family there. Some of them are living 10 or 15 minutes from where I’m going to stay.
“And you don’t have such opportunities twice in your life. Regarding the clubs that wanted me, I can just tell you that there were two English ones, three Spanish ones, two Dutch ones, three French ones and Partizan Belgrade.”
The Belgium U17 international added: “I join Tottenham to play with players of my own age at the start.
“I may play with the superior category. But I’m not already thinking of the first team, I shouldn’t go too quickly. I am thinking of improving a bit more and then I will think about the ‘A’ team in two or three years.
“I have plenty of time because I have signed a four-year contract with the club. But my goal was to succeed in England and I will fight to achieve the dream I had as a kid!”
