Tottenham’s Van der Vaart ready to outshine Arsenal

(GSM) – Rafael van der Vaart believes his new side Tottenham Hotspur can do better than bitter rivals Arsenal this season.

The playmaker, who joined Tottenham on the last day of the transfer window from Real Madrid, has been informed by Holland teammate Robin van Persie about the rivalry between the Spurs and the Gunners.

Van der Vaart is adamant that his new club can enjoy more success than Arsenal this season.

“Arsenal have a great team also, a lot of great young players,” he said.

“But I think our squad is not worse than Arsenal’s so I think we have a good chance to win against them.

“And not only win the game against them but also, over the whole season, we can aspire to beat them.”
