AS Roma captain Francesco Totti will miss his club's Serie A opener against Napoli this weekend with an injured ankle, Italian news agency Ansa said on Wednesday.
The forward injured his ankle in a challenge with Inter Milan's Brazilian full-back Maicon in the Italian Supercup on Sunday, which the champions won on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Totti also missed the end of last season with a knee problem, for which he underwent surgery.
Roma also have doubts over Montenegro forward Mirko Vucinic, Totti's understudy, and Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Taddei.
