Francesco Totti believes Juventus are already out of Roma’s reach in Serie A but is confident of securing Champions League qualification.

Roma sit seventh in the standings with 14 points from 10 games played, trailing third-placed Napoli by eight points.

Champions Juve are already 14 points ahead of Zdenek Zeman’s capital city side, but Totti feels booking a spot in next season’s Champions League is still within his club’s grasp.

“It’s now our objective to finish third in the table. Leaders Juventus are already out of their reach, but qualifying for the Champions League is still a realistic goal,” veteran forward Totti told reporters.

“We cannot afford to have another transitional season. Admittedly, there are teams out there that have done better so far, but we have enough quality to do well.

“We are always trying to do our utmost and achieve good results, but we have to get out of this negative moment.”

Roma, who have lost their last two matches in Serie A, will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Palermo on Sunday.
