Totti was ‘tempted’ by Real Madrid

According to various reports in Italy, Francesco Totti has revealed that he was once tempted by a move to Real Madrid after he was sent a Real shirt with his name on it in an attempt to lure him to the Bernabeu. The Roma legend spent two decades carving out a tremendous career for himself with the club, with many wondering whether or not he’d ever leave. Alas, he remained faithful, before eventually retiring last year.

Totti often serves as the symbol of what is possible when a player commits to staying at one club throughout the course of his entire career after he was continually able to write his name into the history books with Roma. His hard work and dedication in the game is something that we rarely see from forwards these days, and as we look ahead to the future, more youngsters could and should learn from him.
