Touching Video: Genoa & Cagliari players told about Astori’s death

Football world has been shaken by terrible news of Davide Astori’s death on Sunday.

The Fiorentina captain and Italy international died in his sleep at the age of 31 following a ‘sudden illness’. Fiorentina were scheduled to play Udinese in Serie A on Sunday afternoon but the game and all other Serie A fixtures were subsequently called off.

The news of Astori’s death spread just when Genoa and Cagliari were preparing to play their early afternoon clash and this video shows a touching moment players of both clubs were told the terrible news.
