Toulouse, Casanova: It was a bizarre win

Toulouse coach Alain Casanova described his side’s progress to the semi-finals of the French Cup as “a bizarre win”. TFC needed penalties to knock out fellow Ligue 1 high-fliers Lille in a game which saw three red cards.

Casanova said: “It was a bizarre match but cup ties are often like that. My players never gave up throughout the 120 minutes. The win and the qualification have done us some good as they help wipe away the memories of our Ligue 1 loss to Monaco last weekend.”
