French Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse have revealed they rejected a big money offer for star striker Wissam Ben Yedder in the January transfer window.
The highly rated footballer has been on the radar of several top clubs of late, including Sevilla and Marseille, and le Tefece received a very good offer for his services back in December.
However, they ultimately decided to keep hold of Ben Yedder, even though he is almost certain to leave next summer.
“We rejected €17 million in December. We opted to save our club with our players,” the club chairman Olivier Sadran confessed to BeIn Sports.
Toulouse found themselves in all sorts of problems this term, as they currently sit five points adrift of safety, and it is hardly surprising that the club chiefs opted against selling their best player.
Ben Yedder recovered well from the poor start to the season to score nine goals in last twelve matches in all competitions and no doubts le Tefece are heavily relying on the 25-year-old to help them beat the drop.
