Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has dismissed his training ground bust-up with team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor as ‘already forgotten’.
Toure and Adebayor needed to be pulled apart by their team-mates after scuffling in training, hours before Wednesday’s crucial match against fellow title rivals Arsenal.
Toure, who also played alongside Adebayor at the Gunners, has played down the incident as minor, though he admits he and the City striker have a history of disagreements.
“It was a bust-up because of a hard tackle,” Toure told The Sun.
“We both lost it but it was quickly calmed down. Other players and the manager came to separate us.”
“It’s already forgotten. In any case, with Adebayor it’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.”
“At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to. We know each other well, maybe too well.”
“In any case that proves we have energy to burn. It’s not that negative.”
Toure’s team-mates Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng made headlines for coming to blows in training earlier this season.
Adebayor was also involved in an ugly on-field spat with City defender Vincent Kompany during their 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton in October.
