Toure closing in on new Barcelona deal

Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure is close to signing a new contract with Spanish giants Barcelona.

Toure has been linked with several clubs in recent months, including several from Italy and England.

“Barcelona are optimistic about resolving the issue and I believe that we are on the verge of signing an agreement. However, it is clear that the time limit is next week, he signs or he doesn’t sign,” said Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk.

“Although there are many clubs interested, we are not interested in them. In fact, he can only play for eight teams, three of them in Italy, three in England and two in Spain,” he added.

Barcelona have feared that they could lose the highly rated midfielder in the summer transfer market, according to reports.
