Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure is poised for a move away from Barcelona and Manchester City is a strong option, his agent Dimitri Seluk said Tuesday following talks at the Spanish club.
“In a few days we will have a definitive solution, although I must talk to him before,” he told reporters after leaving Barcelona’s offices.
“Manchester City is one of the options. I think Barcelona prefers this option because they are the ones offering the most money,” he added, according to the online edition of Barcelona-based sports daily Mundo Deportivo.
The newspaper said the deal could be worth between 25 and 30 million euros.
Toure, who is in South Africa with his national team for the World Cup, is interested in more playing time after having spent most of last season relegated to the bench.
“I have said for a long that I want to play in the Premier League. For me, the Premier League is a very good competition and I love that. After the World Cup I will decide what I want to do,” the 27-year-old told Sky Sports News.
Ivory Coast were held 0-0 by the 2006 World Cup semi-finalists Portugal on Tuesday in their opening World Cup Group G match.
